Fight Parkinson's, Body Mind and Soul

A special day

Today was a very special day for me. My twin boys had career day at Kindergarten. The idea was for them to dress up as what they wanted to be when they grow up then have all the parents parade from station to station and interview them. We asked the children questions about what they wanted to be and why. There were plenty of Veterinarians, Astronauts, Librarians, Professional athletes and even a International spy!

My boys have been excited all week wanting to dress up as a Navy Seal and Scientist. As I approached Cade’s table I saw him proudly wearing some bits and pieces of my old military uniform. I watched him salute several other parents and proudly announce he was gonna fight bad guys for his country. Now I admit, I never saw any combat while in the Navy as a military as an Air Traffic Controller, and I personally hope he transitions into a Cowboy, Rock star or Accountant, but it made me so proud to see him dressed up in some of his Dad’s old memories. We worked a bit on a proper military salute and some sea stories for the next group of parents, then I moved on to the next table.

There was my Scientist Tripp, all dressed up in white with goggles and test tubes, beakers and microscopes at his ready. My family has a saying about filling each other’s “buckets” with love. My children keep my bucket pretty full, but I do struggle with depression living daily with a debilitating unforgiving disease. Than this, my 6 year old son told me he wanted to mix things together to help people get better and he wanted to cure my disease so my hand would stop shaking and my body would stop hurting. The innocence of a child’s love – POWERFUL. If you think their not watching everything, you’re wrong! My bucket overflows, he’s already cured me. I’ll Never Give Up!
