Fight Parkinson's, Body Mind and Soul

Reflection

Parkinson’s is such a nasty disease, it affects everything around you. Today’s my 51st birthday and I’m still learning to live with it. 13 years ago today I proposed to my wife with a fly rod in my hand and a custom ring I designed dangling at the end of 5X tippet. I told Kristin I’d had so many unhappy birthdays I wanted to make this one the happiest day in my life.  We celebrated the evening with champagne. I still chuckle at the memory, towards the end of the night Kristin told a friend her married name would be Kristin Braveheart.

I’ve made some good and bad choices since then and have been blessed both with a beautiful family and a disease of uncertainty. How can a disease of uncertainty be a blessing? Because before this disease I really didn’t know how strong I really was. Today I’m 51 years old with Parkinson’s and I’m getting stronger every day! I’ll never give up or stop fighting! I’ve lived in the Wood River Valley for over 17 years and I’ve never hiked Baldy by myself before. It’s a rainy but a beautiful day, the sun will break through.  Sometimes you just  need to slow down and wait.

God is good and yes there is a plan that I’m not in total control of. Sometimes we all color outside the lines.

Fight Parkinson’s Body Soul and Mind.

“For God gave us not a spirit of fearfulness; but of power and love and discipline.”

‭‭2 Timothy‬ ‭1:7‬ ‭

“Confess therefore your sins one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The supplication of a righteous man availeth much in its working.”

‭‭James‬ ‭5:16‬ ‭ASV‬‬
